TSSC signs Mou with GMDA in implementation of Smart city initiatives and develop the telecom/ ICT architecture for the purpose

Gurugram: 7th May 2018: Telecom Sector Skill Council and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to work jointly in the endeavor of GMDA in implementation of Smart city initiatives and develop the telecom/ ICT architecture for the purpose.

The MoU was signed by Shri V. Umashankar, Chief Executive Officer, GMDA and Lt. Gen Dr. SP Kochhar, Chief Executive Officer, TSSC in Gurugram today.

Through this MoU, both the think tanks have mutually agreed to certain responsibilities. The aim is to establish the mechanism for setting up a functional telecom/ICT manpower by TSSC, required by GMDA.

GMDA intends to position Gurugram as the ‘Smartest City’ by implementing various projects that leverage on telecom technology for planning, infrastructure development and delivery of services to its citizens. TSSC ha expertise in execution of projects of skill training in the field of Telecom/ICT.

Commenting on the partnership, Lt. Gen Dr. SP Kochhar, CEO Telecom Sector Skill Council said “We are happy to partner with GMDA for the implementation of Smart City initiatives. TSSC has been making its own efforts to explore the possibilities of expanding the concept of digital India in a big way. Our efforts has been to strengthen our infrastructure in order to expedite our efforts towards this end. We are glad that this MOU would surely provide us with an opportunity to do our best in the implementation of Smart City initiatives.”
